Please contact us for more information and to reserve your spot in a class.  We keep our classes very small to ensure individual attention and we fill our classes on a first come, first served basis.  We look forward to working with you and your puppy!

We offer all first-time clients a free, private consultation (at our building).  This gives us all a chance to meet, talk about what your goals are with your puppy and start to put together a training plan that will best suit you and your puppy's needs.  Contact us to set up your consultation.

S*T*A*R Puppy Class

Next series begins:
April 30, 2012
Monday evenings, 5:45 -- 6:45 p.m.

At Bark Avenue Pet Boutique, 114 South Front Street, Fremont, Ohio.

This class is for puppies 6 weeks -- 6 months old.  Puppies have several optimum learning times and taking your puppy to a class will maximize his/her learning potential and help to lessen problems (such as fears and aggression) later in life.  Come as soon as your vet approves your puppy for class!  Scientific research tells us that puppies learn the most in their whole lives from 8 to 16 weeks old.  This is a vitally important time is your puppy's life to be providing as many positive experiences as possible.

In this class we work on family relationships with the new puppy, care and handling, interactions with people and other dogs and puppies, and new experiences (obstacles, surfaces, smells, sights, sounds, touch, motions, etc.).  In each session we will work on 2 -- 3 different objectives.  We will teach our puppies many things through play.

These classes will teach you how to best communicate with your new puppy, work on foundational skills essential for all well-mannered dogs, and will also include valuable training tips for puppy owners – including housetraining, coming when called, chewing, and grooming.  There will be both puppy training time and puppy play time during the classes.  For more information click on the A.K.C. S*T*A*R Puppy logo.

This is NOT just Puppy Playtime!!!  We work with our puppies for about 40 minutes each class and then have Puppy Playtime as a reward for all their hard work!!!

Equipment needed:  collar, leash (no retractable or chain leashes), and soft, yummy treats (click here for training treat information and ideas).

6 classes/6 hours/$120.00 and includes a Mutt Mat, a bag of training treats, treat pouch, and  clicker.  (If you have already taken S*T*A*R Puppy classes and have these, please contact us for an alternative free gift, get a different size or color, or a discount on the class series.)
Properly socializing your puppy is one of the single most important things you can do for your new puppy!  (And it's important for the newly adopted adult dog too -- it's just done a little differently.)  This is why all our classes and sessions focus on canine development and canine learning theory.

At Buchele's K-9 Service, the emphasis in our S*T*A*R Puppy classes is to lay the solid, proper foundation to help puppies develop and learn normally and to their fullest potential.  We agree with and abide by the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior and their position on puppy socialization.  This statement can be found on their website: www.AVSABonline.org.
