Canine Life Skills

For all dogs -- learn attention, sit, down, come, go to your bed/mat, walking nice on leash, polite greetings, and doorway manners. Our dogs are happier and better behaved when they understand what is expected of them and what place they hold in our homes. Learning basic house manners and life skills helps to establish and maintain the relationship both humans and canines want.

We are now offering APDT's Canine Life and Social Skills (C.L.A.S.S.) program in our classes. You and your dog can earn "degrees" as you build your relationship and skills together. The C.L.A.S.S. Evaluation is included in the class series. For more information, please check out their website at www.mydoghasclass.com.

Equipment needed: collar, leash (no retractable or chain leashes), and soft, yummy treats (click here for training treat information and ideas).

6 classes/6 hours/$120.00 and includes a Mutt Mat, a bag of training treats, treat pouch, and clicker. (If you have already taken S*T*A*R Puppy classes and have these, please contact us for an alternative free gift, get a different size or color, or a discount on the class series.)

There are waiting lists for some classes. Please contact us for more information and to reserve your spot in a class. We keep our classes very small to ensure individual attention and we fill our classes on a first come, first served basis. Your spot in a class is secured when we receive your full payment and registration form. We look forward to working with you and your dog!

We offer all first-time clients a free, private consultation (your choice of location -- in your home, at our building, in a public place). This gives us all a chance to meet, talk about what your goals are with your dog and start to put together a training plan that will best suit you and your dog's needs. Contact us to set up your consultation.

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Class

An advanced class for any dog who wants to continue with their training. This class covers topics that will help your dog become a better citizen of the community. An optional Canine Good Citizen evaluation is offered at the end of the class series. Click on the CGC Logo to the left for more information.

Prerequisite: Canine Life Skills, Puppy Class or working knowledge of basic skills (instructor approval needed).
