Agility  for Fun!

1 class/3 hours/$55.00
2:00 -- 5:00 p.m.

Dogs love to run and jump and play!  The sport of Agility takes these innate canine behaviors and puts them into a course of fun exercises and interesting obstacles.  Agility is great fun for both the dogs and the humans!  In this class block we will introduce different agility exercises and obstacles.  If you don't know where to begin, this is a great place to start.  Please register early -- class size is very limited!

Polite Greetings and Doorway Manners

Holiday Manners
TBA

Are you dreading the holidays with your dog?  Wondering what is okay for your dog and what is potentially toxic?  The holidays are stressful enough!  This class will prepare both you and your dog for a stress-free canine holiday season.  We will talk about dos and don'ts for the holidays, what holiday traditions are safe (and dangerous) for your dogs, and work on stay, doorway manners, polite greetings, and trouble-shoot other problem areas.  Cost is $20/dog (additional dogs in same family will be $10 each) and includes a special holiday gift for each dog!  Reservations required as space is limited.

Come Out, Come Out, Wherever You Are!
TBA
1 class/1.5 hours/$20
A class devoted to teaching and reinforcing our dogs to come when called.  In this class we will play lots of recall games that make learning to come to us fun for our dogs.

Fun with Clickers
TBA
1 class/1.5 hours/$20
This class is for any handler (beginner through competitive!) who wants to know more about how that little noisemaker (the clicker) can help our dog training.  In this class we will work on clicker training some fun and useful things with our dogs such as "check-ins," "zen," targeting, and shaping.  If you don't have a clicker, we will give you one!

Go to your Mat
TBA
1 class/1.5 hours and Mutt Mat/$45

Registration deadline -- TBA

If you already have a Mutt Mat, deadline is TBA and the cost is $20.00.

Preregistration required for this Continuing Education class so that we can order your Mutt Mat for you to have in class.  We will be using the Mutt Mats to teach our dogs to go to their mats on cue.  This is a great skill for all dogs to have -- think how impressed your friends and family will be when you tell your dog to "go to her mat" and she does!  We love this skill for company, when the delivery person knocks on the door, for bedtime, and for whenever we need to dogs to "stay put" any time, any where.  The Mutt Mats are portable, washable, durable, and attractive  mats that come in a huge variety of colors.  You pick the size and color(s) you want for your dog, your lifestyle and your home!

If you already have the foundation laid for this exercise, this is a great class to work on distractions.  All levels welcome in this class -- we will work with everyone!

Fun Nosework
Next block starts TBA
4 classes/4 hours/$60.00

All dogs love to use their noses!  A dog's sense of smell is 1 million times greater than ours -- in this class we will have fun seeing the wonderful things dogs can do with their noses.  We will learn the signs our dogs give us when they find something, we will learn how to focus that enormous "smelling energy," and learn some great games and activities to do with our dogs.

Additional equipment needed for class:  a favorite dog toy and a towel or piece of fabric that will completely cover the toy.

Continuing Education classes are for anyone who wants to have an hour or two of fun with their dog and maybe learn something new!  We will continue to add new Continuing Education classes as dates, times, and resources permit.  If you have any suggestions or have a special canine-related talent you would like to share with people through a class, please contact us!

For all classes (unless otherwise noted):  any dog or puppy that has taken at least one class series (from any training facility) is welcome along with a current Training Registration and Liability Waiver form.  If you have trained your dog at home, but think he will do fine in a group situation, we welcome you in our Continuing Education classes after meeting with us at our facility (no charge -- just a time for us to meet your home-schooled dog!) and completion of  the Training Registration and Liability form.

Equipment needed for all Continuing Education Classes:
collar, 3 to 6 foot leather or nylon leash (no chain or retractable leashes), soft, yummy treats (click here for training treat information and ideas), clicker and/or target stick if you have them, and an appropriate sized dog mat, bed, or blanket (a piece of fleece from the fabric store works great!).  If a class requires something special, it will be noted in the class description.  All classes include training treats.
